1st Choice Installs Electric Gates for Small Driveways

Security gates are now one of the most popular options for home and business owners wishing to protect their property against opportunistic crime. They not only allow you to determine who you let in, they also enhance the value of your property. And, last but not least, the range of designs now available means that they’re a stylish addition to your driveway.

Occasionally a client will dismiss the idea of installing electric gates, because “they’re just for people with big driveways”. This is absolutely not the case. Our 1st Choice Security Systems design team are passionate about ensuring that anyone can have security gates installed. We create a range of bespoke electric gates for small driveways.

Bi-Fold Swing Gates

If you don’t have enough depth of space for traditional swing gates, we can now install bi-fold gates instead. These are swing gates that are cut in half and fold back on themselves when opening. This means they use around half the space required for normal swing gates. Whatever the style of gate you’re looking for – metal, wood, wrought iron – we can adapt them to the bi-fold structure.

Sliding Gates

The great advantage of sliding security gates is that cars can drive right up to them, rather than having to leave space for the swing opening. If your property is close to the road, therefore, sliding automatic gates are a great option. They’re also perfect for sloping driveways. The gates run on a track that is laid across the front of your property, and can be fitted with a motor that provides the speed of opening you require.

Telescopic Sliding Gates

Suppose that you’re challenged with the need for cars to drive right up to your gates, but you don’t have space to extend the slider track laterally. This is exactly the kind of problem our design team love to deal with. In this instance they would suggest the telescopic sliding security gate. You gate is split into two or three parts that slide back next to each other. This arrangement uses much less lateral space than traditional sliding gates.

Curved Electric Gates

This design suits clients whose driveway aperture is both shallow and narrow, whilst also being bounded by gateposts. A lateral slider track won’t work, therefore, and swing gates would hamper entry. We make the track curve to accommodate the gate posts, and the specially designed electric gate slides around it to facilitate opening and closing.

Security Gates are Key to an Effective Security System

At 1st Choice Security Systems we have no hesitation in recommending a security gate, whatever the size of your driveway. They create a boundary which is separate to your front door, and the sight of security gates is often enough to deter opportunistic criminals. An automatic gate is only one part of a security system, however, and we would always recommend additional elements such as an alarm, CCTV, or entry control.
